Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Shepherdess and Sheep by Julien Dupré was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 16,250.00 (€ 14,558.32) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Julien Dupré achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Au retour de la moisson in April 2003 with an auction result of USD 265,100.00 (€ 215,879.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Shepherdess and Sheep von Julien Dupré kam im April 2015 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 14.558,32) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Julien Dupré erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Au retour de la moisson im April 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 265.100,00 (€ 215.879,48).
