Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Portrait Of The Singer Lady Lillian June Henschel (Née Bailey) by Julius Rolshoven was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,241.27). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Julius Rolshoven achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Assisi Market Girls in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 181,000.00 (€ 123,229.85).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Portrait Of The Singer Lady Lillian June Henschel (Née Bailey) von Julius Rolshoven im September 2013 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.241,27) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Julius Rolshoven erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Assisi Market Girls im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 181.000,00 (€ 123.229,85).
