In October 2020 Christies in New York held the auction Old Masters, which included the work Saint Paul by Jusepe de Ribera. The »bidding war« ended at USD 400,000.00 (€ 343,436.08), 33% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jusepe de Ribera achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Girl With A Tambourine (The Sense Of Hearing) in July 2019 with an auction result of GBP 5,743,000.00 (€ 6,305,432.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Masters durch, in der auch die Arbeit Saint Paul von Jusepe de Ribera zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 400.000,00 (€ 343.436,08) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jusepe de Ribera erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Girl With A Tambourine (The Sense Of Hearing) im Juli 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.743.000,00 (€ 6.305.432,17).
