Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Zacchaeus, c.1990 by Justin O'Brien was auctioned at Bonhams in Melbourne in September 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 26,840.00 (€ 22,904.93) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Justin O'Brien - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Miraculous Draught Of Fishes No. 2, which sold at auction in November 2007 for AUD 88,800.00 (€ 53,492.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Zacchaeus, c.1990 von Justin O'Brien kam im September 2020 bei Bonhams in Melbourne zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 26.840,00 (€ 22.904,93) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
