This artwork by Kadhim Haider achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in October 2011. In the Contemporary Art / Arab & Iranian auction, the work The Martyr'S Epic sold for GBP 38,450.00 (€ 44,498.56) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kadhim Haider achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Al Qamar in May this year with an auction result of GBP 635,400.00 (€ 739,292.13).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 92 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Kadhim Haider erzielte im Oktober 2011 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art / Arab & Iranian wurde die Arbeit The Martyr'S Epic für GBP 38.450,00 (€ 44.498,56) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kadhim Haider erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Al Qamar im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 635.400,00 (€ 739.292,13).
