In the British and Continental Pictures auction, the work El-Golea, Algeria sold for GBP 3,290.00 (€ 5,204.20) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,800.00. Admittedly, works by Karl Kauffmann have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Roma, Castel Sant'Angelo Con San Pietro Sullo Sfondo. in June 2006 with an auction result of EUR 23,560.00.
