Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sternenandacht by Karl Schmidt-Rottluff was sold in the Impressionist & Modern Art Evening Sale auction at Christies in London in February 2016. The price achieved of GBP 578,500.00 (€ 741,276.32) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500,000.00 – 800,000.00. Admittedly, works by Karl Schmidt-Rottluff have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Akte im Freien (Drei badende Frauen) in February 2008 with an auction result of GBP 3,044,500.00 (€ 3,982,086.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sternenandacht von Karl Schmidt-Rottluff wurde im Februar 2016 in der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Evening Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 578.500,00 (€ 741.276,32) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 500.000,00 – 800.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Karl Schmidt-Rottluff auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Akte im Freien (Drei badende Frauen) im Februar 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.044.500,00 (€ 3.982.086,52).
