The work Gaifu kaisei (Fine wind, clear weather) “Red Fuji” by Katsushika Hokusai was worth USD 507,000.00 (€ 451,549.70) to a buyer in March 2019. This price was achieved in the auction Japanese and Korean Art at Christies in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 120,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Katsushika Hokusai have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Kanagawa oki nami ura (Under the well of the Great Wave off Kanagawa) [“Great Wave”|AID1099960] in March this year with an auction result of USD 2,760,000.00 (€ 2,538,631.35).

Die Arbeit Gaifu kaisei (Fine wind, clear weather) “Red Fuji” von Katsushika Hokusai war einem Käufer im März 2019 USD 507.000,00 (€ 451.549,70) wert.
