Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Gaifu kaisei (Fine wind, clear weather) “Red Fuji” by Katsushika Hokusai was auctioned at Christies in New York in March last year. The price achieved of USD 252,000.00 (€ 227,170.29) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Katsushika Hokusai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Kanagawa oki nami ura (Under the well of the Great Wave off Kanagawa) [“Great Wave”|AID1099960] in March this year with an auction result of USD 2,760,000.00 (€ 2,538,631.35).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Gaifu kaisei (Fine wind, clear weather) “Red Fuji” von Katsushika Hokusai kam im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 252.000,00 (€ 227.170,29) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Katsushika Hokusai erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Kanagawa oki nami ura (Under the well of the Great Wave off Kanagawa) [“Great Wave”|AID1099960] im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.760.000,00 (€ 2.538.631,35).
