Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Sunshu Ejiri (Ejiri in Suruga Province) by Katsushika Hokusai was worth USD 25,200.00 (€ 25,758.97) to a buyer in September last year. This price was achieved in the auction Japanese and Korean Art at Christies in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 8,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Katsushika Hokusai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Kanagawa oki nami ura (Under the well of the Great Wave off Kanagawa) [“Great Wave”|AID1099960] in March this year with an auction result of USD 2,760,000.00 (€ 2,538,631.35).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Die Arbeit Sunshu Ejiri (Ejiri in Suruga Province) von Katsushika Hokusai war einem Käufer im September letzten Jahres USD 25.200,00 (€ 25.758,97) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art bei Christies in New York erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Katsushika Hokusai erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Kanagawa oki nami ura (Under the well of the Great Wave off Kanagawa) [“Great Wave”|AID1099960] im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.760.000,00 (€ 2.538.631,35).
