Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Kattingeri Krishna Hebbar could be acquired at Christies in New York in March 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Lahiri Collection: Indian and Himalayan Art, Ancient and Modern auction, the work Untitled (Caravan) changed hands for USD 50,000.00 (€ 43,898.16) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kattingeri Krishna Hebbar - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in March 2007 for USD 216,000.00 (€ 161,507.40).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Kattingeri Krishna Hebbar konnte im März 2016 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The Lahiri Collection: Indian and Himalayan Art, Ancient and Modern wechselte die Arbeit Untitled (Caravan) für USD 50.000,00 (€ 43.898,16) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Kattingeri Krishna Hebbar mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im März 2007 für USD 216.000,00 (€ 161.507,40) versteigert wurde.
