This artwork by Kattingeri Krishna Hebbar achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March last year. In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Including Works from the Collection of Mahinder and Sharad Tak auction, the work Untitled (Construction) sold for USD 126,000.00 (€ 113,585.14) - well above the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Kattingeri Krishna Hebbar; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot without title sold at auction in March 2007 with the realized price of USD 216,000.00 (€ 161,507.40).
