Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2008 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art including Works from the Collection of Bannon & Barnabas McHenry, which included the work Farm buildings, Co. Kerry by Keith Vaughan. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,125.00 (€ 3,282.16) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Keith Vaughan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sixth Assembly of Figures in May last year with an auction result of GBP 705,600.00 (€ 830,071.23).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art including Works from the Collection of Bannon & Barnabas McHenry durch, in der auch die Arbeit Farm buildings, Co. Kerry von Keith Vaughan zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.125,00 (€ 3.282,16) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Keith Vaughan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sixth Assembly of Figures im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 705.600,00 (€ 830.071,23).
