Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ogiya Uchi Hanaogi, Takigawa (Hanaogi And Takigawa Of The Ogiya) by Kitagawa Utamaro was auctioned at Christies in September 2021. The price achieved of USD 25,000.00 (€ 21,594.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kitagawa Utamaro achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work L'amour évident (Arawaruru koi), portrait en buste (okubi-e) d'une jeune femme s'arrangeant une épingle à cheveux sur fond micacé, de la série Anthologie de poèmes: la section de l'amour, (Kasen koi no bu in May 2018 with an auction result of EUR 381,000.00.

Die Arbeit Ogiya Uchi Hanaogi, Takigawa (Hanaogi And Takigawa Of The Ogiya) von Kitagawa Utamaro kam im September 2021 bei Christies zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 21.594,54) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kitagawa Utamaro erzielen.
