Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2009 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Aboriginal Art, which included this untitled work by Kutuwalumi Purawarrumpatu. The price achieved of AUD 7,200.00 (€ 4,076.37) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kutuwalumi Purawarrumpatu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Parlini Jilamara, 1998, which sold at auction in November 2019 for AUD 14,640.00 (€ 13,286.14).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2009 führte Sothebys in Melbourne die Auktion Aboriginal Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Kutuwalumi Purawarrumpatu zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 7.200,00 (€ 4.076,37) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Kutuwalumi Purawarrumpatu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Parlini Jilamara, 1998 beobachtet, die im November 2019 für AUD 14.640,00 (€ 13.286,14) versteigert wurde.
