Auction result well in line with expectations
In September last year Christies in New York held the auction Centering the Figure: South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art from the Collection of Romi Lamba, which included the work Untitled (Crow) by Lalu Prasad Shaw. The price achieved of USD 5,040.00 (€ 5,151.79) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lalu Prasad Shaw - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Woman With Flower, which sold at auction in May 2007 for GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,658.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Centering the Figure: South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art from the Collection of Romi Lamba durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Crow) von Lalu Prasad Shaw zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.040,00 (€ 5.151,79) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Lalu Prasad Shaw mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Woman With Flower beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für GBP 12.000,00 (€ 17.658,81) versteigert wurde.
