The work A recumbent cat by Foujita was sold in the Japanese and Korean Art auction at Bonhams in New York in March last year. It achieved a price of USD 25,312.50 (€ 22,818.44), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 69%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Foujita achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La fête d'anniversaire in October 2018 with an auction result of GBP 7,096,250.00 (€ 8,002,380.76).

Die Arbeit A recumbent cat von Foujita wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 25.312,50 (€ 22.818,44) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 69%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Foujita erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La fête d'anniversaire im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.096.250,00 (€ 8.002.380,76).
