Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Art, which included the work La joie de patinage (The Joy of Skating) by Leonora Carrington. The price achieved of USD 519,000.00 (€ 440,801.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 400,000.00 – 600,000.00. Admittedly, works by Leonora Carrington have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Garden of Paracelsus in May last year with an auction result of USD 3,256,500.00 (€ 3,034,665.92).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit La joie de patinage (The Joy of Skating) von Leonora Carrington zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 519.000,00 (€ 440.801,77) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 400.000,00 – 600.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Leonora Carrington auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Garden of Paracelsus im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.256.500,00 (€ 3.034.665,92).
