Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2001 a collector was able to acquire the work Bucolique by Leopold Franz Kowalski for USD 14,100.00 (€ 15,889.11). This price was achieved in the auction Fine Nineteenth Century European Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Leopold Franz Kowalski have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October 2005 by the work A Summer Evening at USD 26,400.00 (€ 22,009.17).
