This artwork by Lionel Percy Smythe achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2002. In the British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings auction, the work Shrimping sold for GBP 1,527.50 (€ 2,416.24) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lionel Percy Smythe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Boulogne Fisher-Folk, An Impression in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 78,500.00 (€ 106,668.18).

In der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings wurde die Arbeit Shrimping für GBP 1.527,50 (€ 2.416,24) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00.
