Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Woman, Lower East Side, New York, 1942 by Lisette Model was auctioned at Christies in New York in December 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,639.16). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lisette Model achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Woman with Veil, San Francisco, 1949 in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 31,200.00 (€ 45,912.91).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Woman, Lower East Side, New York, 1942 von Lisette Model im Dezember 2017 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.639,16) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lisette Model erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Woman with Veil, San Francisco, 1949 im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 31.200,00 (€ 45.912,91).
