Auction result well in line with expectations
The work La Preghiera (The Prayer) by Lorenzo Bartolini was sold in the Old Master Paintings Part II auction at Christies in New York in January 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 31,250.00 (€ 23,005.01) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lorenzo Bartolini - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Elisa Baciocchi, Née Bonaparte, Princess Of Piombino And Lucca, Grand Duchess Of Tuscany, which sold at auction in January 2014 for USD 118,750.00 (€ 87,962.96).
