Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Crucifixion by Lorenzo de Caro was sold in the Old Master Pictures auction at Christies in London in July 2000. The price achieved of GBP 7,050.00 (€ 11,399.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lorenzo de Caro achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Serie di cinque oli su tela raffiguranti scene bibliche: ' Trionfo di David' 'Trionfo di Mardocheo', 'Ritrovamento di Mosè', 'Trionfo di Giuditta', 'Ester e Assuero', (misure diverse) in October 2013 with an auction result of EUR 120,000.00.
