In November 2005 Christies in London held the auction MARITIME PICTURES, which included the work Ships of The Fleet Offshore by Louis Dodd. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,020.00 (€ 1,498.51), 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louis Dodd achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Charleston built frigate John Adams with the American fleet on the Guadeloupe station under Commodore Truxtun at Basseterre, St. Christoper's and Nevis, Leeward Islands, West Indies in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 9,987.50 (€ 16,026.25).

Im November 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion MARITIME PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ships of The Fleet Offshore von Louis Dodd zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.020,00 (€ 1.498,51) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louis Dodd erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Charleston built frigate John Adams with the American fleet on the Guadeloupe station under Commodore Truxtun at Basseterre, St. Christoper's and Nevis, Leeward Islands, West Indies im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.987,50 (€ 16.026,25).
