Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Figures in a field under stormy skies by Louis Watelin was auctioned at Bonhams in April this year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 600.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 612.00 (€ 554.35). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Louis Watelin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cattle Watering By A Pond, which sold at auction in June 2007 for USD 2,640.00 (€ 1,952.66).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Figures in a field under stormy skies von Louis Watelin kam im April diesen Jahres bei Bonhams zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 600,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 612,00 (€ 554,35) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Louis Watelin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cattle Watering By A Pond beobachtet, die im Juni 2007 für USD 2.640,00 (€ 1.952,66) versteigert wurde.
