A top price for Louis Latapie
When the work Le clown by Louis Latapie was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2003, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - GBP 7,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than six times as high at GBP 45,410.00 (€ 65,256.64). This high result makes Le clown the most expensive artwork by Louis Latapie that we have observed at auctions so far.
