Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Red Bridge, 1999 by Louise Forthun was auctioned at Bonhams in March this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of AUD 600.00 – 900.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for AUD 246.00 (€ 151.69). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Louise Forthun achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Roma I in August 2004 with an auction result of AUD 8,365.00 (€ 4,855.04).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Red Bridge, 1999 von Louise Forthun im März diesen Jahres bei Bonhams versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 600,00 – 900,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für AUD 246,00 (€ 151,69) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Louise Forthun erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Roma I im August 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 8.365,00 (€ 4.855,04).
