Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2019 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings and Sculpture, which included the work Bacchus And Ariadne by Luca Giordano. The price achieved of USD 23,750.00 (€ 21,302.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Luca Giordano achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Martyrdom of Saint Bartholomew in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 962,500.00 (€ 1,214,015.12).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master Paintings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bacchus And Ariadne von Luca Giordano zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 23.750,00 (€ 21.302,36) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Luca Giordano erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Martyrdom of Saint Bartholomew im Juli 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 962.500,00 (€ 1.214.015,12).
