Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Lucas van Leyden could be acquired at Christies in London in December 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Prints auction, the work Samson and Delilah changed hands for GBP 1,750.00 (€ 2,068.30) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lucas van Leyden achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Virgin and Child with two Angels in January 2019 with an auction result of USD 52,500.00 (€ 45,835.52).
