Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A View In The Taunus Near Bad Schwalbach, With Travellers Beside A Mountain Stream by Lucas van Valckenborch was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 212,500.00 (€ 238,259.23) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Lucas van Valckenborch have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Summer: the Harvest ('Le Repas de Paysans') in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 2,840,000.00 (€ 2,079,062.96).

Die Arbeit A View In The Taunus Near Bad Schwalbach, With Travellers Beside A Mountain Stream von Lucas van Valckenborch kam im Juli 2018 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 212.500,00 (€ 238.259,23) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lucas van Valckenborch auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Summer: the Harvest ('Le Repas de Paysans') im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.840.000,00 (€ 2.079.062,96).
