Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Celebration by Lucky Madlo Sibiya was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,125.00 (€ 3,282.16) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Lucky Madlo Sibiya have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ntombis Dance in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 18,848.83).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Celebration von Lucky Madlo Sibiya kam im Dezember 2008 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.125,00 (€ 3.282,16) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lucky Madlo Sibiya auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ntombis Dance im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 18.848,83).
