Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Important Works from the Najd Collection, which included the work The Guard by Ludwig Deutsch. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,200,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,335,000.00 (€ 1,548,504.26). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ludwig Deutsch - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Tribute, which sold at auction in October 2019 for GBP 4,298,400.00 (€ 4,985,835.73).
