Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work St. Margaret and the Dragon by Ludwig Ferdinand Schnorr von Carolsfeld for USD 1,890.00 (€ 1,609.47). This price was achieved in the auction Master Paintings and Drawings at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ludwig Ferdinand Schnorr von Carolsfeld achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Die Heimkehr des verlorenen Sohnes in October 2011 with an auction result of EUR 98,820.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
