Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Lui Shou-Kwan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2018. In the Chinese Contemporary Ink auction, the work Waves sold for HKD 400,000.00 (€ 43,701.80) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by Lui Shou-Kwan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Victoria Harbour After Rain in April 2013 with an auction result of HKD 4,240,000.00 (€ 415,048.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Lui Shou-Kwan erzielte im Mai 2018 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Chinese Contemporary Ink wurde die Arbeit Waves für HKD 400.000,00 (€ 43.701,80) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 150.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lui Shou-Kwan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Victoria Harbour After Rain im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 4.240.000,00 (€ 415.048,60).
