Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (De La Serie Aguas Territoriales) by Luis Martínez-Pedro was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 17,500.00 (€ 15,574.94). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Luis Martínez-Pedro - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Composition No. 16, which sold at auction in November 2016 for USD 43,750.00 (€ 41,359.43).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled (De La Serie Aguas Territoriales) von Luis Martínez-Pedro im Mai 2017 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 17.500,00 (€ 15.574,94) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Luis Martínez-Pedro mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Composition No. 16 beobachtet, die im November 2016 für USD 43.750,00 (€ 41.359,43) versteigert wurde.
