This artwork by Lynton Wells achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in an online auction in February this year. In the The Eye That Shapes: Further Selections from the Peter C. Bunnell Collection auction, the work Six Wizards (Italian Bellflowers) sold for USD 4,032.00 (€ 3,803.06) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Lynton Wells; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Ccyd 7475 sold at auction in May 2008 with the realized price of EUR 5,000.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Lynton Wells erzielte im Februar diesen Jahres bei Phillips in einer Online-Auktion einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Eye That Shapes: Further Selections from the Peter C. Bunnell Collection wurde die Arbeit Six Wizards (Italian Bellflowers) für USD 4.032,00 (€ 3.803,06) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.500,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Lynton Wells; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Ccyd 7475 im Mai 2008 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 5.000,00.
