Auction result well in line with expectations
In April last year Sothebys in Cologne held the auction Modern & Contemporary Auction, which included the work Vier Segler (Four Sailboats) & Dreimastbarke (Three Ships) by Lyonel Feininger. The price achieved of EUR 56,700.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 45,000.00 – 65,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lyonel Feininger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Jesuiten Iii (Jesuits Iii) in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 23,280,000.00 (€ 17,304,690.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in Köln die Auktion Modern & Contemporary Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Vier Segler (Four Sailboats) & Dreimastbarke (Three Ships) von Lyonel Feininger zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 56.700,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 45.000,00 – 65.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lyonel Feininger erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Jesuiten Iii (Jesuits Iii) im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 23.280.000,00 (€ 17.304.690,40).
