Despite a disappointment, a good price for M. J. Rendall
In April 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work Ludgate Hill Towards St. Pauls by M. J. Rendall for GBP 239.00 (€ 214.72). This price was achieved in the auction British and Continental Pictures at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, Ludgate Hill Towards St. Pauls is the most expensive artwork by M. J. Rendall that we have observed at auction so far.
