In November 2015 Christies in London held the auction Posters, which included the work Australia by MacDonald Gill. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,670.66), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by MacDonald Gill have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Peter Pan Map of Kensington Gardens in October 2012 with an auction result of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,879.09).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im November 2015 führte Christies in London die Auktion Posters durch, in der auch die Arbeit Australia von MacDonald Gill zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.670,66) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von MacDonald Gill auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Peter Pan Map of Kensington Gardens im Oktober 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 10.879,09).
