Sold at the upper estimate price
The work Theatreland by MacDonald Gill was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2014. The auction ended at the price of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,687.10), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by MacDonald Gill - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Peter Pan Map of Kensington Gardens, which sold at auction in October 2012 for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,879.09).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Theatreland von MacDonald Gill kam im Mai 2014 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.687,10) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von MacDonald Gill mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Peter Pan Map of Kensington Gardens beobachtet, die im Oktober 2012 für GBP 8.750,00 (€ 10.879,09) versteigert wurde.
