Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In August 2020 Christies in New York held the auction Trespassing, which included the work Brillo Box (3 cents off) II-P (inspired by Andy Warhol): two boxes; Brillo Soap Pads Box II-P (inspired by Andy Warhol): two boxes; CAMPBELL'S TOMATO JUICE BOX II-P (inspired by Andy Warhol) by MADSAKI. The »bidding war« ended at USD 6,000.00 (€ 5,026.81), 20% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by MADSAKI achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Birth of Venus II in May last year with an auction result of HKD 4,788,000.00 (€ 568,438.36).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im August 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Trespassing durch, in der auch die Arbeit Brillo Box (3 cents off) II-P (inspired by Andy Warhol): two boxes; Brillo Soap Pads Box II-P (inspired by Andy Warhol): two boxes; CAMPBELL'S TOMATO JUICE BOX II-P (inspired by Andy Warhol) von MADSAKI zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 6.000,00 (€ 5.026,81) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von MADSAKI erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Birth of Venus II im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 4.788.000,00 (€ 568.438,36).
