In June 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work Bathsheba Receiving A Letter From King David by Maerten Stoop for USD 840.00 (€ 657.33). This price was achieved in the auction The House Sale at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maerten Stoop achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Card Game In A Courtyard in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 34,100.00 (€ 46,336.12).
