This artwork by Mahmoud Sabri achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Paris in November this year. In the Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art auction, the work Farmer family sold for GBP 30,240.00 (€ 35,041.58) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mahmoud Sabri achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Grief in October 2017 with an auction result of GBP 668,750.00 (€ 762,505.90).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mahmoud Sabri erzielte im November diesen Jahres bei Christies in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art wurde die Arbeit Farmer family für GBP 30.240,00 (€ 35.041,58) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mahmoud Sabri erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Grief im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 668.750,00 (€ 762.505,90).
