This artwork by Manolo Valdés achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Madrid in October 2006. In the Spanish Sale - Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture from Old Master Pictures to Contemporary Art. auction, the work Reina Mariana sold for EUR 325,600.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 160,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Manolo Valdés; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Infanta Margarita sold at auction in February 2011 with the realized price of GBP 457,250.00 (€ 538,602.24).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Manolo Valdés erzielte im Oktober 2006 bei Christies in Madrid einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Spanish Sale - Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture from Old Master Pictures to Contemporary Art. wurde die Arbeit Reina Mariana für EUR 325.600,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 160.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Manolo Valdés; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Infanta Margarita im Februar 2011 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 457.250,00 (€ 538.602,24).
