The »bidding war« ended at USD 23,900.00 (€ 20,587.48), 20% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Manuel García y Rodríguez have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work El Patio De La Villa (The Villa Garden) in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 60,500.00 (€ 84,715.65).

Die Arbeit Patio con Niños von Manuel García y Rodríguez wurde im Oktober 2003 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 23.900,00 (€ 20.587,48) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Manuel García y Rodríguez auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit El Patio De La Villa (The Villa Garden) im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 60.500,00 (€ 84.715,65).
