Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Spanish calle En Granada (In The Street, Granada) by Manuel García y Rodríguez was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2011, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 11,875.00 (€ 13,862.85). Admittedly, works by Manuel García y Rodríguez have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work El Patio De La Villa (The Villa Garden) in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 60,500.00 (€ 84,715.65).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Spanish calle En Granada (In The Street, Granada) von Manuel García y Rodríguez im November 2011 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 11.875,00 (€ 13.862,85) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Manuel García y Rodríguez auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit El Patio De La Villa (The Villa Garden) im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 60.500,00 (€ 84.715,65).
