Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work La siesta by Mario Carreño was sold in the Latin American Art auction at Christies in New York in May 2018. The »bidding war« ended at USD 348,500.00 (€ 298,628.96), 16% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Mario Carreño have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Cortadores De Caña in June 2020 with an auction result of USD 2,660,000.00 (€ 2,368,444.48).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit La siesta von Mario Carreño wurde im Mai 2018 in der Auktion Latin American Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 348.500,00 (€ 298.628,96) und damit 16% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mario Carreño auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Cortadores De Caña im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.660.000,00 (€ 2.368.444,48).
