Auction result well in line with expectations

In December 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters Evening Sale, which included the work An Outdoor Wedding Dance by Marten van Cleve I. It changed hands for a price of GBP 187,500.00 (€ 219,217.92) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. Admittedly, works by Marten van Cleve I have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An Outdoor Wedding Dance in July 2016 with an auction result of GBP 1,061,000.00 (€ 1,260,697.53).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im Dezember 2016 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit An Outdoor Wedding Dance von Marten van Cleve I zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 187.500,00 (€ 219.217,92) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 150.000,00 – 200.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Marten van Cleve I auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit An Outdoor Wedding Dance im Juli 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.061.000,00 (€ 1.260.697,53).
