Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of Mrs. Clement B. Newbold by Mary Cassatt for USD 746,000.00 (€ 660,937.36). This price was achieved in the auction American Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mary Cassatt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Young Lady In A Loge Gazing To Right in October last year with an auction result of USD 7,489,000.00 (€ 7,538,755.79).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait of Mrs. Clement B. Newbold von Mary Cassatt für USD 746.000,00 (€ 660.937,36) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 800.000,00 – 1.200.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mary Cassatt erzielen.
