The work "The Departure of the Sons of Tippoo from the Zennana..."; "The Definitive Treaty by the Hostage Princes into the Hands of Lord Cornwallis" hand-coloured aquatint plates by F. Bartolozzi (first), and Daniel Orme after Brown, cropped within platemark by Mather Brown was auctioned at Bonhams in London in June this year. It achieved a price of GBP 3,328.00 (€ 3,873.22), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 33%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mather Brown achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Major Norton, the Mohawk Chief Teyoninhokarawen in September 2007 with an auction result of GBP 46,100.00 (€ 66,104.01).

Bartolozzi (first), and Daniel Orme after Brown, cropped within platemark von Mather Brown kam im Juni diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 3.328,00 (€ 3.873,22) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 33%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mather Brown erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Major Norton, the Mohawk Chief Teyoninhokarawen im September 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 46.100,00 (€ 66.104,01).
